Story of the World #02 - Mammon, the Fortunate and his treasures

Mammon, the Fortunate

This Great One is the embodiment of greed and hoarding. His followers gather around him, so entranced with the riches he might bestow upon them that they become part of his treasures, transforming physically and mentally forever.

No one knows the purpose of the treasures Mammon covets, but all who tried to uncover this mysteries became one with it.

Literature and Artifacts

They say that if something holds any value, Mammon covets it. His hunger for more treasures and fortune is well documented in the book Path to Avarice. Unlike other deities, knowledge about Mammon doesn't seem to influence the mind of those who acquire it, but the direct contact with him or his idols does, immensely.

The Ring of Plutus is his most powerful treasure and appears to contain his will. No one has been able to resist the draw of the ring, which guides those who hold it always back to Mammon.

Minor artifcats are the Coins of Fortune, which Mammon uses to buy time for his influence to create roots in it's seekers spirit, binding them to himself.

In the end, all who come in contact with Mammon become one with his hoard.
